1/9/06- A Miracle has happened !!! Bo does NOT have Osteosarcoma !!! The 1st read was wrong !! Bo is going in for surgery 1st thing tomorrow morning to remove the new granulomus (sp?) tissue and also for some culture smears of the removed tissue to see if the cocci are still in there. Being he has been treated w/ several antibiotics that may be cleared up.
He will also being getting several x-rays for I have found a lump on his jawbone/cheekbone.
There is also a soft tissue lump growing on his wing which may be no more than an abscess caused by improper feather growth. That also will be removed and sent in for examination.
In about a month his blood will be rechecked to see if the values have improved. His preen gland is now producing oil as a HEALTHY bird's should.
I'm not one for believing in miracles ... but one has touch our life this time!! We still have a long road ahead and possible future surgeries .... but at least now we are planning for LIFE and not how to keep him comfortable until the end. I have no doubt that the well wishes, prayers and support are a very big part of our miracle. Please everyone say a prayer for Bo's surgery tomorrow; w/ you all behind us there is not doubt he will bounce back better than ever !!
