Bo had a vet appointment 2/8/06 and all went rather well. No lumps or bumps were found. All but one area is healing very well. The one area that is of question we are just going to watch at this time. Bo's body has been under a lot and his new feathers tell the story. They are coming in but are so full of stress bars that parts of the feathers just break off. He needs time to recuperate.
Overall though my vet was pleased. Bo's weight is good, his nares which at one time were swollen shut were open enough to do a sinus flush. His sinuses were so packed at first she could not even establish a flow but it finally broke loose and Bo is finally, after God only knows how long, drawing in air. She is pleased enough with his progress that she is releasing him to 30 day checks unless I find something of concern. His blood will be re-tested at his next appointment, as we decided to give it a bit more time. It should be a good indicator as to whether he is improving or just maintaining. His blood work was a mess the last time.I am to continue applying the BioDres for it seems to really be helping with keeping the healing in check.
We had a few days of really nice weather and on these days I bring Bo out for some healing sunshine and exercise. He has christened his first (of many I am sure, LOL) piece of molding. He is showing some sassy behavior ... namely when it is time to come in from being outside. He ADORES the outdoors. He enjoys giving my husband kisses and telling him he is a "good bird". He always joins me when I am calling any of our "4-leggers" and tells them to "Come 'mere, step-up, step-up, come 'mere." He is our official greeter and will tell you "hello" or "hi" every time you enter the room and "Gimme a kiss *SMOOOOCH*,buh-bye" every time you leave ... even if you just left only to turn around because you forgot something, LOL.
I can't help but wonder what kind of people abandoned him at that store .... for the short time he has been in my life he has touched my life in so many ways ....
