1/29/06 - Although the report states that "this area needs to be watched", I spoke w/ my vet and because this cancer is most likely formed from Bo's mutilating behaviors causing an over-abundance of cells to grow and these cells are "mutated" there is a good chance that these tumors can occur on any part of Bo's body that he has previously mutilated.
Even though when I found Bo his chest was the biggest injury there was indication that there was not many parts of his body that he did NOT abuse in the past. Someone who read the report asked why it said things like "appears" and "may". The only way I can explain it is because they never want to say "positively" or "without a doubt" because of liability of misdiagnosis ... like what happened w/ the Osteosarcoma. I have seen the same wording on necropsies reports. More or less this is what the picture shows us and this is our conclusion drawn from that picture.
I had been feeling a bit bummed but have bounced back and maybe I am deluding myself ... but for some reason I am feeling positive that Bo will not develop any more tumors. I hope you all join me in this positive outlook. Thank you all who have been so supportive during this rollercoaster ride!
